The New Tools

100 · Surfing the Transfer

The use of AI is the end and the beginning of a new era. How it morphs the entire way we think about leverage and progress must be completely internalised — keeping up with the tools, learning to integrate them into study, research and work is key. This is exactly what I mean by topology: the additional data modifies the function and the model itself.

There is a massive wealth transfer going on in the world right now, via AI. And you are early. Especially AI — there's a wave of tools growing right now; you are still early, Jamie. Very early. Learn it. Hop on it.

Just use what you have. I would watch TikTok and Instagram ten hours a day and YouTube at 5x speed, learning everything I can get my hands on. Those used to past technology have always hated the emergence of the new. Why is new tech a bad thing? I'd argue TikTok and the doomscroll — pointed at the right feeds — scaled my rate of learning by orders of magnitude. If you love the lengthy slow formats, go live in them; but it makes no sense not to use AI to the fullest. Radical turbulence: learn as much as humanly possible, as viscerally as possible.

The rate of learning is so accelerated by AI that the game is now acceleration of the acceleration. The jerk needs to concave up while staying positive — at bare minimum keep it at zero. Never let the jerk drop below the axis. That's when you start to die.

Your work will be replaced by someone who doesn't have the patience to wait for someone else to build the thing that solves their problem — so it might as well be you. Be the best at STEM in the world, and replace everything, automate everything. That's the decade's arbitrage.

When you keep scaling data throughput, at some point you need a software revamp — for me that means delegation to AI agents. Learning to outsource is one thing; finding the right agents to outsource to is another. As soon as you see manual repetition running parallel to your AI, find the tool that automates the process. Usually Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity alone will do fine.

Bro, just imagine the weapon you'd be if you could orchestrate all the Apple devices, all the LLMs, all the knowledge — retaining so much from every textbook and knowledge amalgamation you touch. That's the build: not a man with tools, but a system with a soul.

Quantum computing is coming for all of it — the qubits, the optimisation problems, the cryptography. I want to build my own quantum computing circuit that runs an API agent. It's going to expand massively in the next decade, and South Korea will be one of the places it happens. Stay at the forefront of everything in tech, first and foremost — that's a must, not a preference.

Everything that you idolise — it's not that hard. The people making the best websites, the coolest videos, the hardest builds: they were no smarter than you. With the tools we have right now, the difference between a YC startup and your startup is funding, guidance, and a big orange Y. You can build a small B2B SaaS fully automated with AI within a week. It is not that hard to make the most lit website — and that alone multiplies the marketing tenfold.
